Multimedia publishing platform for the National Geographic linear television channel that supports more than 40 countries, all localized to their language and location.

Challenge

Synchronizing an international system on one single platform to meet the needs of more than 40 countries involves the review and homogenization of very different functionalities at source. This task is combined with multi-localization, languages, schedules and specific formats for each culture, including languages with Asian, Arabic and Hebrew characters and different directions of writing. The automatic detection of the user’s origin by IP helps to locate them in the correct web version and the CDN ensures low latency in content reception.

A big challenge that together with a system optimization, resulted in excellent performance.
